The Sud Ouest describes why the American students decided
to come to France: to imrpove their French and to authentically experience French culture. Furthermore, it provides a quick overview regarding their itinerary which included a visit of the frigate Hermione (an important symbol of the French – American relationship) and a French cooking course with an accomplished French chef.

The Charente Libre additionally provides the reader with some background 
information about the beautiful location La Giraudière also running a volunteering program since 2007. It is open to people from all backgrounds and nationalities who are willing to contribute to the place’s development and receive a real French experience in exchange.

The Courrier Français also published a press release about the student’s week at La Giraudière covering all their trips and activities to experience French culture and to improve their French skills.
There is also a very interesting article online about the Freedom Preparatory Academy at La Giraudière. This article was written by Julia, a volunteer from Germany, who chose this as her first task to which she is also referring in La Giraudière’s volunteer blog.
