I first found out about Lagiraudiere on this website here: http://www.gooverseas.com/volunteer-abroad/france

My name is Jos Doggett 19 from the UK. I recently left my university course and decided I wanted to travel a bit In Europe before going off to other places. I was also looking for some volunteering abroad and found that this was a perfect fit.

Being the first volunteer here in 2017 I am happy to say Lagiraudiere does not disappoint on the promise of delivering a true French experience. Meeting the local people of Brossac was a nice change from the people back home In the UK.  Everybody here seems very friendly and welcoming and (Paul the project manger) seems well integrated with the community.

One of the things I have enjoyed most so far while staying here is the location which is perfect for taking long walks and bike rides. A good spot is down by this tranquil and quiet lake. I have also liked eating out with the community especially paella night which had live music and lots of friendly people who are fond of there French wine.

The work itself has been good and physical with plenty to do but with a relaxing atmosphere. Paul has been very welcoming and kind and makes you feel apart of the community. Sharing the accommodation with others has been easy as we all help out as a team here. I also find it good that you can do what you like on the days off with the choice to take part In some activities. And this makes the whole thing feel nice with a relaxed vibe.
