La Giraudiere rests 1 km outside the village of Brossac, Brossac is a
village with aprox 1100 habitants plus numerous visitors who frequent
thier vacation time at holiday homes in arround Brossac. The village
has all the ammienities needed Bamk, Post Office, Bakers, Butchers,
Mini spar supermarket, Tabac 2 bars and restaurants and many other
commercants and tradesmen.

La
Giraudiere was once a
proud Maison d'Maitre or masters house owned by the
family
Giraud. This fine old stone built Charentaise property has been
tastefully renovated and restored
and now offers a superb environment in which to learn French, enjoy all
the
pleasures of France and
sample the delights of this region. Whilst La Giraudiere can
accommodate 40 persons or more we are presently keeping the numbers
down to a maximum of 12 students and 4 camp supervisors at any one time
for the 2007
session. This will insure that we maintain the familly atmosphere that
has allways been associtaed with La Giraudiere. Plans are well ahead
for a new wing exstension to La Giraudiere which will increase the
capaicity further for 2008 and will enable us to start our Girls summer
camp. |

| Brossac is idealy situated for exploring the
region of south west
France. Situated at the southerly point of the department of Charente
it is no more then 10 minuets away from its neighboring departments of
Dordogne, Gironde and the Charente Maritime. The nearest rail station
is at Chalais which lies 8 km south of Brossac. The nearest TGV line is
55 km at Angouleme which is the departmental capital of South Charente.
The largest city to Brossac is Bordeaux some 110 km away. All of these
towns, cities and depatments will be visited during your stay at the
summer camp. |

Brossac
lake is just one the ammienities in and arround brossac which the camp
students use for swimming, boating, fishing and other water sports. The
restaurant on the lake will also be frequented by the camp for sampling
cuisine a la francais. Also
available within 2 km of the camp is hourse riding, quad bike ridding,
tennis and numerous other sporting facilities. See activiities and
