| The La Giraudiere Boys Summer Camp
will introduce you to new Friends
new cultures and a new way of Life. La Giraudiere is 1 km from the
village center and you will soon feel part of this community. Within a
short time you will have the confidence to carry out a real life
conversational experiences, you will get to know the owners of the
bakers, the supermarket and many other new acquaintances which you will
always remember.All teachers are bilingual in French and English. The
first day of
your arrival will be used to ascertain the level of French you have and
decide in which of the two classes you will be taught.The more
advanced students will be encouraged to help with the beginners. No
mater what level you have in

and lessons will be carried out in a mixture of the two
languages and gradually more and more French will be introduced as
your grasp
of the language increases. No need to worry
the progression will be at
your pace. The afternoon of your first day
at La Giraudiere summer camp will be
spent acquainting you with your surroundings at the camp and at the
village. |

| The best way to learn
a foreign language is
by being immersed in a foreign environment. At La Giraudiere you will be
learning French the same
way you learn't your native tongue. No stuffy
air conditioned glass room with slide show pictures of cabbages etc at
La
Giraudiere you have all of France on your door step and it is real.
Say, For example, tomorrow you are soccer training
with the local
French football club at Brossac village then the French Lesson for
today will
be themed around soccer and you will learn the French for referee,
offside, goal and all you require to play along side your
newly
acquired French friends. Ok we may show you a cabbage but it
will be a real one at a local French Market as on Market morning your
French lesson will be at the local French Market. |

The French lessons are given a teacher to student ration of 1 to 6
maximum in other words the maximum number of pupils in any class is
six. During the summer camp we have two fully qualified French Teachers
employed at the camp. In addition we employ 4 camp supervisors of which
three are on duty at any one time. Camp supervisors are also proficient
in French and take an active part during the lessons,
French lessons
take place in the morning after break fast and last until Lunch with a
coffee break in between. Lessons are four days a week normally Monday to
Thursday thus leaving the afternoon for activities and the week end for
excursions. During excursions at least one of the teachers accompanies
the students plus three of the camp supervisors and a senior member of staff. |
