kenya arms imageLycée Denis Diderot, The French school in Kenya  Belonging to a unique system in the world (with 410 schools accredited by the French Ministry of Education) the French School in Nairobi, located in Kilimani accomodates around 400 students each year from 40 different nationalities.
Founded in 1962 to provide quality education in French for children of French speaking parents. It was renamed «Collège Denis Diderot » in 1989 and became « Lycée Denis Diderot » in 1995. It symbolizes the fusion of talents around a high level French education system which, from kindergarden to "Baccalauréat" (equivalent of A level) enables students to be admitted into French universities.
International Francophonie Day - 20th March 2011
On the 20th March 1970, an Agency for Cultural and Technical Cooperation (ACCT) was founded in Niamey and in 1988 the ACCT launched The International Francophonie Day celebrations.

This agency was renamed the International Organization of the Francophonie in 1998 and continued with this celebration on the 20th of March every year. This grand ensemble brings together different countries and institutions who, by passion or need, are interested in the French language.
The Aga Khan High School which hosts the event this year, will open its doors to different francophone countries present in Kenya who will share about their culture, as well as Kenyan companies and educational institutions. On the same occasion we shall extend a hand of solidarity with six students from Thika School for the Blind, who will be officially awarded their DELF diplomas.

Finally to make this day fun and culturally beneficial to all we have organized artistic performances by troupes from Comoros, Madagascar, Rwanda and Burundi, as well as various cultural presentations by Kenyan secondary schools and universities students and at the same time a quiz in French and crazy Olympics. The winners of various categories will receive interesting prizes.
