South African choose La Giraudiere for Volunteering Holiday

This is a late thankyou to Raline a volunteer from South Africa who volunteered for 2 weeks at La Giraudiere in 2017. La Giraudiere was the final part of her 3 months abroad and in her own words she said she had saved the best for last.

Raline druring her stay looked after the household carrying out various household management she also took and supplied our media with many photographs as Raline simply documented her stay with photographs.

This was the first time Raline had taken a 3 month trip abroad on her own and she said it is just the start so maybe we see Raline back at La Giraudiere one day.

Un bénévole de l’Université de Bath à La Giraudière

Lewis, un étudiant de 20 ans de Bourne au Royaume-Uni, a choisi de passer trois semaines à faire du bénévolat à La Giraudière.  Lewis étude la gestion internationale et le français à l’Université de Bath.

Le séjour de Lewis a été raccourci  à cause d’un problème concernant sa santé. Seulement deux jours après son arrivée, il devait voir notre médecin local. En fin , Lewis a préféré raccourcir son séjour ici et retourner au Royaume-Uni pour s’occuper de son état, avant de retourner à l’université à la fin du septembre.

Au cours de ses jours à La Giraudière, Lewis a fait une grande impression sur le groupe et a contribué à la traduction de lettres et à la recherche pour le projet YERRF.

Lewis, heureusement, avait une bonne assurance de voyage qui, on espère, payera sa visite avec le médecin, ses médicaments, ses frais de voyage supplémentaires et ses frais de bénévolat.

N’oubliez jamais qu’il est très important d’avoir une bonne assurance de voyage, lorsque vous voulez faire partie d’un projet de bénévolat.

Volunteer from University of Bath at La Giraudiere

Lewis, a 20 year old student from Bourne, UK chose to spend three weeks volunteering at La Giraudiere. Lewis is studying international management and French at the University of Bath.

Lewis’ stay was shortened due to a problem concerning his health. Only two days after his arrival, he had to see our local doctor. At the end, Lewis preferred to shorten his stay here and return to UK to care after his condition, before going back to university at the end of September.

During his few days at La Giraudière, Lewis made a big impression on the group and helped with the translation of letters and researching for the project YERRF.

Lewis, fortunately, had a good travel insurance which will hopefully pay for his doctor’s visit, medication, additional travel costs and the volunteering fees.

Never forget that it is very important to have a good travel insurance, if you are planning to be part of a volunteering project.

La Giraudière, une expérience culturelle fantastique!

Viens à la Giraudière et rencontre des personnes internationaux!

La Giraudière, Brossac, est un bel endroit situé dans la campagne française qui accueille chaque année des volontaires internationaux. Depuis cette année, il héberge des bénévoles Erasmus + pour travailler sur un projet d’entrepreneuriat, qui s’appelle YERRF.

Dans la maison, il y a beaucoup de bénévoles incroyables qui viennent et vont. Ils ne font pas partie du programme Erasmus, mais ils viennent ici et contribuent à la gestion de la maison.

Au cours des deux derniers mois, Gillian, d’Angleterre, et Anne, une irlandaise vivant actuellement à Grenade, en Espagne, ont travaillé au bureau, en communiquant avec les futurs bénévoles par la poste et en aidant le projet; Sheila d’Afrique du Sud avec Andrea et Andras, de Hongrie, travaillaient dans les projets de la maison et s’occupaient du jardin, Gary, né en Lituanie qui vit actuellement en Angleterre, a dirigé une vidéo sur le projet YERRF, jeune Sam, garçon croate vivant en Angleterre, a aidé au bureau et s’occupait du jardin avec Amy, un professeur d’anglais animé qui est resté ici pendant une semaine.

BeFunky CollageHier, le volontaire turque du Erasmus, Deniz, est parti parce qu’elle a décidé de poursuivre ses études en Bosnie. Mais les autres volontaires SVE, Kelly d’Espagne et Sofi d’Italie sont encore dans la maison travaillant sur le projet YERRF. Et … Il y a de nouveaux bénévoles!

John, un blogueur de voyage des États-Unis, qui est déjà venu ici une semaine, Moe, un entrepreneuse japonaise vivant en Canada, qui travaille au bureau, Raline, d’Afrique du Sud, s’occupe de la maison et Ben, d’Angleterre, du jardin.

La Giraudière, amazing cultural experience

Come to la Giraudière and meet international people!

La Giraudière, Brossac, is a nice place situated in the French countryside who welcomes international volunteers every year. From this year, it is hosting Erasmus+ volunteers to work on a project about entrepreneurship, named YERRF.

In the house, there are a lot of amazing volunteers coming and going. They are not part of the Erasmus program, but they come here and help with the maintenance of the house.

In the last two months, Gillian, from England, and Anne, an Irish woman, currently living in Marbella, Spain, worked in the office, communicating with the future volunteers by mail and helping with the project. Sheila from South Africa together with Andrea and Andras, from Hungary, were working on the house projects and taking care of the garden. Gary, born in Lithuania, currently living in England, directed a video about the YERRF project. Young Croatian boy, Sam, living in England, was helping in the office and taking care of the garden together with Amy, a lively English teacher, who has stayed here for a week.

BeFunky CollageYesterday, the Turkish Erasmus volunteer, Deniz left because she decided to pursue her education in Bosnia. But the others EVS volunteers, Kelly from Spain and Sofi from Italy are still in the house working on the YERRF project. And…There are new volunteers!

There is John, a travel blogger from the US, who has been here for a week already, Moe, a Japanese entrepreneur living in Canada, who is working in the office, Raline, from South Africa, is taking care of the house and young Ben, from England, of the garden.
