Volunteers Application Process
The process for applying for a place to volunteer at La Giraudière could not be easier. It takes just 3 easy steps to submit your application – so start the process now to secure your unique experience in France. We look forward to seeing your application to join the 2024 volunteers in France.
How to apply for 2024 Volunteer Program:
- Step 1: Contact Us to tell us that you are interested in our Volunteer Project and the 2024 program and we will reply with up-to-date information and links to help you.
- Step 2: Read the information provided on our website including the frequently asked questions. You will be asked to agree to certain conditions found in the Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct.
- Step 3: Complete the Volunteer Application Form and click “submit.”
Processing Time: Depending on the number of applications it can take 2 to 14 days.
We try to accommodate as many volunteers as possible. Please keep in mind that the group will consist of a mixture of ages and nationalities. So please do not be disappointed if you do not get a place. Remember that you can always reapply, change dates or even reserve for the following year. If we cannot accommodate you we will contact you with alternative dates to see if they suit you. Ready to apply?

Reservation Deposits
If your application is accepted you will receive an email from us confirming so. It will confirm that a place has been reserved for you, the dates of your participation and the place of your arrival. With this confirmation you will also receive a link so that you can secure your spot by paying a reservation deposit. All deposits are handled via the secure payment platform where most cards are accepted or via a Bank Transfer IBAN.
When you have paid your deposit it is wise to email us to let us know you have paid. Once your payment is received, your place is changed from “allocated” to “reserved” and you can start to make your travel plans, knowing your place at La Giraudière is confirmed.
Remember that your allocated place is up for grabs until your reservation deposit is paid, so if you foresee a delay then let us know.
IMPORTANT – DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL PLANS UNTIL YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DEPOSIT AND YOUR RESERVATION IS CONFIRMED.
Make sure you have checked the volunteering fees and that you understand what is included.
Once you have completed your travel plans send us an email to confirm your arrival date and time so that we can meet you at Chalais station or expect your arrival.
Volunteer Visa Applications
North and South African countries note. You will need a visa to visit France, even as a volunteer. Once your deposit is paid you will receive a receipt via our payment platform. We will send you a signed letter confirming that you have reserved accommodation. There is a 50€ charge for these letters which is not refundable if your visa application fails. So it is important to have good travel insurance in place. You can read more about the visa application to enter France.
In 2024, there will be one Volunteer Program
26th June 2024 until 30th September 2024
The recommended volunteering period is 3 weeks but you can apply for any length of stay during the 2024 program.
