La Giraudiere project is located 1 kilometer from the
village of
Brossac. Brossac village is situated within the department of The
Charente and The Department of The Charente is within the region of
Poitou_Charente.
La Giraudiere
is
ideally based for exploring the south west region of France. The
Dordogne, the
Charente Maritime and the Gironde are all within 25 km of La
Giraudiere.
8 km south of La Giraudiere you will find the Ville
de Chalais, a
market town which also has a train station. There are three
trains a day running to and from Bordeaux and/or Angouleme. This is the
station where most of the volunteers and guests arrive and this would be your
start off point for planing your weekends away.
You will find
loads of information and websites about the TGV trains or
the city link express trains for which you can purchase and reserve places
online but for the local trains you need TER for which normaly you
cannot reserve a seat you can read more about the
